Os bailarinos apareciam em palco, calçando sapatos pesados, de alturas diferentes, transformando os seus corpos em formas híbridas. “Quando faço uma coreografia, começo sempre por criar um problema”, diz Aydin Teker. “A seguir passo o tempo a tentar resolvê-lo.”&lt;br /&gt;harS é um dueto entre uma bailarina e uma harpa. Na sua atitude habitual de investigadora, Aydin Teker ignora todas as regras de manuseamento do instrumento e as suas fortes conotações históricas e musicais. Olha para a harpa como um objecto. Durante 50 minutos, a bailarina Ayşe Orhon interage com este corpo inanimado, num exercício de grande rigor e densidade. Executado no limite do equilíbrio, harS é uma fonte inesgotável de imagens poéticas e uma peça de rara beleza escultural. De uma forma inspirada Goodman, leva-nos como crianças, pela mão, ao som de uma espécie de fábula alimentada por marcianos criativos e por terrestres sedentos de cumprir o sonho de um museu ideal. No entanto se as fábulas parecem histórias simples, dão-nos também perspectivas insondáveis de onde temos que fazer a destrinça para perceber onde está o lobo mau e a avozinha. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Se por um lado Goodman aponta como função principal do museu a de proporcionar algum &lt;em&gt;“prazer inconsequente”&lt;/em&gt;, por outro lado surgem as questões práticas de como expor as obras, e todo um legado cultural que se quer protegido.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Assim, é ressalvado aqui uma espécie de limbo: o museu é encarado como local que inspira a valores humanísticos, mas também pode incitar ao vandalismo na medida em que só ali podemos encontrar obras que nunca poderão ser possuídas pelo vulgar dos indivíduos. Nestas posturas tão opostas somos alertados para questões centrais a discutir: &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Qual é a verdadeira missão de um museu? ou seja, - &lt;br /&gt;como chegar a Marte sem sair da Terra ?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Acerca da missão dos museus Goodman faz uma analogia que me parece bastante oportuna. Comparar um museu a uma biblioteca ajuda a perceber a questão do acesso. Se numa biblioteca o público que acede já sabe, à partida, como ler os livros que a compõem, o mesmo não sucede com as obras de arte patentes num museu. Torna-se missão munir o público das capacidades de percepção de uma obra de arte. Ensiná-lo a ler e a ver. &lt;em&gt;“the museum has to function as an institution for the prevention and cure of blindness in order to make works work”&lt;/em&gt;. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Como curar então esta cegueira? &lt;br /&gt;Quais os obstáculos? &lt;br /&gt;E como se podem avaliar concretamente estes processos?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;O autor aponta para a ideia de que, a visão que o museu nos dá influencia a visão que passamos a ter do mundo, e essa visão que passamos a ter do mundo vai influenciar o nosso retorno ao museu. Desta feita &lt;em&gt;“the works work”&lt;/em&gt; quando se apela à estimulação do olhar, da percepção e da inteligência dos públicos, quando as obras ajudam a organizar e reorganizar a experiência do(s) mundo(s), no(s )mundo(s) e com o(s) mundo(s). As obras funcionam quando permitem um novo olhar que forma e transforma a própria visão das coisas e de nós próprios, interagindo com as experiências pessoais e com todos os processos cognitivos. É preciso então ter atenção a alguns obstáculos. O primeiro prende-se exactamente com a heterogeneidade dos seus públicos e por isso com a capacidade, ou não, do museu chegar a predisposições tão diferentes. O segundo fala-nos das condições concretas que o museu tem para fazer essa ligação. E o terceiro indica para a dificuldade de estabelecer um caminho que pode ser feito das mais diversas possibilidades. &lt;em&gt;“There is no going forward or backward, no beginning and no end.”&lt;/em&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Chegamos à conclusão que, o grande obstáculo do museu é ser esse mesmo local onde a &lt;em&gt;“imutabilidade das obras e a volubilidade do visitante”&lt;/em&gt; têm que se encaixar. Como fazê-lo então? Nesta resposta surgem como fulcrais as diversidades de políticas em torno dos museus, que vão desde as concepções de espaço até à disposição das obras ou do marketing nelas implicadas. Mas continua a questão: &lt;em&gt;“the works really work?” &lt;/em&gt;, e na sua tentativa de resposta o autor aponta para várias experiências, para vários pontos de vista, para outras questões.
